Here is where Novellus has the added value that will greatly benefit you, the client. Our model allows all parties (from Design to Print) to be in the same room through all the stages from initial creative, to final product and/or print (if applicable). This avoids time gouging mistakes, costly errors, personal/competitive conflicts that would exist between traditional models (ego). This also streamlines and creates a seamless execution when it comes to general processes, thus economizing in time, and allowing us to be aggressive and more proactive in nature when it comes to final delivery.
Our Linux servers can be set up to allow your own drives for security purposes. All servers and volumes are Password protected. Our Linux FTP server is setup for Individual Volumes for all of our clients. All volumes are password protected for security. Our main Pre-Press assembly program is ArtPro and we utilize the latest RIP technology from Artwork Systems – Nexus 8.6. With the merger of Esko Graphics and Artwork Systems, we foresee the cross program compatibility with the latest screening technologies from both companies, in the near future. We also supply trapped Illustrator files to printers based on their individual specifications. We utilize the latest software from Esko Graphics to automate the trapping process in Illustrator. We then can send a native, trapped Illustrator file to the printer. Other programs have the ability to do a conversion back to Illustrator, but the resulting file is cumbersome and non editable. We can supply Hi Res PDF files for printers from all of our systems, if required. We have Kodak Approvals for contract dot proofs as well as Digital Match print. All are driven with Black Magic software. We create profiles for all of our clients printers, so the proof you receive, will be obtainable on press. For Printers that we have not dealt with in the past, we will fingerprint their presses and create profiles based on the data we extract from the Finger Print. Analyzing the finger Print will also allow us to profile a cutback curve for Flexo presses. Our Colour Department Technicians have years of experience in the industry going back to the scanner and dot etching days. By giving them latest tools for retouching allows them to be able to treat the files for the printing process and knowing what printers are actually printing the job, we can adjust for the characteristics of the individual printer. We use the latest ‘flexo’ tools for retouching all of our flexo. They automate the process and take some of the ‘guess work’ out of the equation. Although the tools are a time saver, nothing can replace the knowledge that our retouches have acquired over the years. We are currently using a system of reproduction called Opaltone that uses the traditional CMYK inks as well as Red, Green, and Blue. This is true 7-colour process printing. We have further refined the process to eliminate the need for a process black separation, allowing the printers an extra print station on their presses. Opaltone widens the gamut of available colour in the Image areas. We can reproduce rich colours that were not available previously. Rich reds, greens and blues are the norm now. The Opaltone process reduces the need for special colours on the press. The printers can set their press up for Opaltone and never have to change ink until they shut the press down. All jobs can be made up in the Opaltone colour space, thus eliminating the need for a huge inventory of ink at a printer. We have partnered with many Flexo printers to assure the Opaltone process meets the stringent tolerances and repeatable results. We produce everything from small labels to large poly bags for birdseed and soil. On the print side of Novellus we use Prinergy to produce all of our jobs that we print. We have calibrated our proofers to our presses and are confident that ‘what you see…is what you get’ when it comes to Digital proofs and printing. We have a Creo CTP unit for our plating, which eliminated the need for film. We have calibrated the proof, and press, to match. |
